Shifter Button Sticking on ZF Meritor '05 379

See attached pic. Anyone know how to take it apart? It looks like years if gunk have built up.

 

Do not ol it with silicone. Clean with dawn or other dish soap and use white grease.

 

I had it happen on mine volvo with zf and what i found out that switch roated and caused to stick, try to rotate the button and then when you find the position that it dont jam mark the top so next time is easy to find the correct spot.

 

Clockwise or counter?

 

I dont remember but it happes to me all the time. Try eaither way.
