    Hey guys,
New here so I figured I’d say hello first.

Anyway so I’m not sure what to do and figured I’d ask for some advice on here.

I got my cdl 6 years ago with us xpress well after 4 months of driving and a new kid on the way my wife wanted me home so I hung it up for her and came home for a local position first in class b milk truck than a mixer truck and finally the job I have now as a class b straight truck driver.
Now the job I have right now is about as good and as stress free as it comes new equipment guaranteed 40 hours great management a solid company and after taxes about 1,000-1150 a week in pay which is all I could ask.
I go in about 1am and get off about 9-1030am min- fri so great for my 4 boys as well.

well here’s the kicker I got offered a job driving a home daily daycab position. Mon-fri can be dispatched morning noon and night and making 1000-1450 a week in pay with Midwest logistics. I had been looking for a job like this so I could get some more experience in a tractor but the opportunity never presented until now (apparently hard time finding people who want to work). Now I want to go but I also want to stay where I’m at. I want to go back to tractor trailers and loved the challenge of backing and the hours spent on the Highway, as the job I’m at now while great in every other way does not challenge me at all it. But the job I’m at now is one that somebody would fight for and while I’m not challenged I’m very happy with it. Also I’m worried because us xpress was kind of shady and Lied about a few things ( no shock there) so I’m worried Midwest logistics may do the same thing and job may not be as advertised. Im also concerned that I haven’t drove a tractor trailer for years and didn’t have alot of experience in one that I may go make an idiot of myself and leave a great job just to go and screw up the second and the thing about it is if I leave this new job there is no coming back as this is a job that will have people lined up for and will be filled before I would start the new one.

I’m torn and need a little advice guys anything is appreciated sorry for writing a book.

Stay where you are. You can go with tractor-trailers later.
If there's an Old Dominion terminal near you, I'd consider that though.

Have to second stay where you are. A bird in the hand and all that....

The grass always looks greener from the other side than it does once you're standing on it. It sounds like right now you have a job and company you're happy with overall and could possibly stay there very long term? Those are things that should not be taken lightly.

Knowing what I know now after years of missing things with family, accounts changing which forces changes on you.

I would stay right there as long as your pay doesn't become stagnant.

However Everyone is different and I have friends who constantly seek change and challenge.

Probably best to have a long talk with the wife and discuss all possible outcomes.

I agree with Chinatown, stay put for now. Midwest is estimating and no company ever underestimates the pay in a week. It could be less money. Like always, talk to drivers doing the kind of work for Midwest Logistics they will hire you to do, not just some driver that once worked for them or a ML driver in another division. Ask the current drives doing this job what their pay and schedules are.

You know what you have right now, a hint you could make more isn't enough to leave. You might have seniority where you are and if the economy slows down being the last guy on the list is not safe. Hope springs eternal. Buy a lottery ticket and stay put unless you feel burn out coming.
