Does anyone just single clutch on an 18 speed? What I mean is just press the clutch in once, lately I have been finding that holding the clutch in for split second longer I can simply find the gears without double clutching.

I can float the gears, though not quite 100 percent yet, when I am tired or thinking of other things I use the clutch, but as 99% of the time I have my timing right I find that it's faster and easier to just press the clutch in to get it out of gear, and hold the clutch in whilst going straight into the next gear.

No grinding or anything, but I just wanted to make sure this is OK for the clutch?

Honestly I don't know if I can shift with the clutch. All those years ago I learned how to drive right from the beginning I never used it.

There are some circumstances though that I will use the clutch to come out of gear and then I finish the shift without the clutch.

"Single clutching"? What we need is a "Then to now" truckers vocabulary dictionary. 1st of all, when you depress the clutch once, you are probably rubbing the clutch brake, which is kind of like a synchronizer, but will wear the clutch brake quickly. What are you even pushing the clutch in for anyway? I used the clutch twice, for starting and while stopped. Don't feel guilty like you HAVE to use the clutch, I never did.

This is the same for me.. I use the clutch to start or stop not shift once in a blue moon if I'am turning into a tight driveway and want to keep rolling I MIGHT use it to down shift from say 2nd to 1st

That dictionary you speak of would be as big as the Webster Dictionary... and it would scare guys like you and I and some others on here .to either death or retirement.. and I'am not ready to die or retire yet..
Iam just glad most of them don't have CBs now.. I couldn't deal with their lack of knowledge and terminology... God help use all

I rarely use the clutch except for starts from a dead stop and/or backing.

Only time I touch the clutch other then starting and stopping is if I’m coming off a hill and I had the jake holding me back in a lower gear to go to the next one

The 2nd hand smoke must be thick out west the only time the clutch brake is working is when the pedal is depressed all the way (assuming the linkage is adjusted properly) there’s nothing detrimental to the clutch by single action shifting.
