Sirius Or Xm Which 1 Is Better

Which One would you Buy?
I have Sirius. Good radio But the Customer Service SUCKS!!! What does everyone think???

 

i've been a slipseater for 3 years now. quite frequently, the other driver will leave his satellite radio in the truck for my enjoyment. i've seen xm and sirius and most of the different makes and models of receivers.
so.....after my extensive research.....and it bein my birthday coming up. my wife let me order one. getting the delphi skyfi2.
oh, by the way, that's XM. like them better

 

With the merger, I suspect that programing will soon be identical as I would think it would not be cost effective to support 2 different formats.

 

I have used both but I had already bought a sirius radio before I ever got into trucking. I think they are both more or less the same overall so either way you cant go wrong. One thing I just added last week was a RF modulator due to poor reception and having to change station frequencies all the time....It rocks now, I am half way across the country and I have zero static and I have not had to change the station once. Pilot has them on sale right now for $20.00. Before I got the RF modulator I would have to find a new frequency at just about every major city and when I was going over a mountain. I have a volvo company truck and it was a snap to install and I find that I enjoy it much more without the hassle of flipping stations all the time.

Sirius hands down, listened to xm alot before and there dj's and programming sucks compared to sirius. Oh an yeah you gotta get the rf modulator or antenna interupter that way you wont have to adjust the radio station again.

 

i guess that's a matter of opinion, i listen more to talk shows, comedy and old time radio, so i like xm way better.
so this modulator you speak of, something you plug in to the back of the truck's radio? that wouldn't work very good for a slipseater, would it?

 

thanks, most of the radios i've used, only have to change the frequency once during my run, and i go to the same place everyday. guess i'll just have to get used to it.

 

I've been using Sirius for the past 4-5 and I won't give it up. Does regular radio exist anymore?

 

Before I picked a satellite radio provider, I went to their websites and checked their programming.
The primary program with sirius that I liked, was Howard Stern.

Xm however, had more programs that I wanted to listen to. Including (but not limited to) Opie & Anthony, Lex & Terry, Bill Mack, the Midnight Trucking Radio Network, and the truckers favorite, Coast to Coast AM with good old George N.

But, it would be up to you to check each providers programming setups. And, pick the one you like.
As for the merger, it may not take place for a while. It will happen, but not very soon. And, they haven't released any programming changes, or whether each others programming will be made available to the others prospective radios.
At least not that I've heard, yet.
