Hey Everyone! I am new to this website and I have a few questions! My fiancé is starting Smith and Solomon in Lakewood in a few weeks. He was told he would be getting a required physical but they didn't elaborate on it. I was just wondering what they do during this physical and the requirements to pass it. For example: do they test your eyesight, hearing, do they take blood , do they do urines or hair samples, do they monitor your heart rate, is your weight an issue? Somebody please answer ASAP, I can't seem to find anyone out there who can give me a straight answer! Thank You Sooooooo Much, Stephanie
http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=391.43 pretty general test in lakewood BP heart rate eyes hearing urine sample no sleep apnea or hair follicle basic stuff only
yes to everything but blood sample and hair. depends what doctor they send you too. I went to superior and there regular doctor makes students get sleep studies if over 17 inch neck...so i went to an alternate down in ac who does not. its not a big deal because any company that hires him is going to redo there own test. hope this helps
Lady if your concerned about urine, blood or hair samples I don't think your fiancé is ready to pursue his CDL. Keep in mind even after he completes school and goes to work for a company he will have to redo the entire physical again. For the most part the physical is very simple, vision, BP, weight, urine, hearing and a few simple dexterity test. Good luck with the school that's the easy part.
