Not much of a news story.
Snow in june is not uncommon in Montana.
More like a normal weather pattern, than a climatic global warming sensation.drvrtech77, Flat Earth Trucker, Albertaflatbed and 4 others Thank this. -
It can happen but it's rare when looking at statistics.
Flat Earth Trucker, Long FLD and Deere hunter Thank this. -
Snow in June isn’t uncommon at higher elevations, but snow in June at the 5000’ mark doesn’t happen much, let alone snowing enough at that low elevation to warrant a storm warning.
Here’s my friend’s yard south of Missoula back on May 23 after their last storm. Guess this is why they call it climate change now instead of global warming.
Bud A., Flat Earth Trucker, ducnut and 3 others Thank this. -
I was about to say but others beat me to it. Definitely not unheard of in high altitudes. I've been in a snow storm on ground level in May. That occurred in North Indiana going into Michigan. It wasn't 12 inches though. It accumulated some. I've never experienced snow in June but I know many drivers have. The earliest I ever saw snow was October and May was the latest.

I believe it was 2017, it had snowed in the Sierras, right before July 4th. California I-80 was a nightmare with skiers headed up.
