I have found a decent t680 in a fair price range and hoping to finish securing financing on it within the next month. A friend which I'm partnering with is finishing his own authority so we have a few choices as to how to use the truck.
I'm looking maybe to start with that Cloud Trucks just to make sure we get paid etc. I know just using load boards yourself can be risky especially with a new business.
So if you were in my position what would you do with the truck?

Both of us have been lease purchase or owner for awhile now.

What do you mean by partnering? I never owned or drove a truck before May, and have used load boards a lot. What makes you think it's risky?

were starting the business together, load boards can have shady brokers that don't pay right away

What do you mean that don't pay right away?

Do you mean pay you as soon as you complete the load?

    Pay within 10 days?

    15 days?

    20 days?

    30 days?

Getting paid "right away" isn't always part of how receivables work.

    Risks?
Trucking business for a solo o/o is unpredictable. It may be 180 degrees different from what you have seen since May.

It may very well. His mention included load boards being risky.

Any business is risky. Gotta roll

Exactly...he knows what he's talking about. It is risky to rely on a freight landfill called load boards.
    ok

Sounds like a team operation. Im assuming you already have a idea you just want to hear something different in regards to maybe something you haven't thought about yet.?
If it where me. Just my opinion, I wouldn't let him put his numbers on my truck with out a contract. Other than that good luck I look forward to see how you two do. Teams either make it or they don't. But that can be said for anybody I guess.
