I was wondering if swift does the team thing with there students still? I started there in 1999 and quit after 4 weeks of training. the trainer ran hard, I have sleep appnea and I drove all night while he slept. I ended up in e.r. room at the hospital while home. I was exhausted and had a ear infection. so my asperations of becoming a trucker was over. I was told I would not make any money unless I cheated on my log by the trainer also. while was there half of the students quit before they finished training I was told. so much for wanting to be a trucker. I drive a straight truck now and make about 40 grand a year. but its food service down a ramp and at 59 yrs old I need to try road freight again. I am thinking Schneider, millis, or trans port America all are here in Wisconsin. I am a Iraq war vet and retired in 2006 from the army national guard as a 88 mike. Schneider is gung ho about hireing vets not and my buddy workds for them on a family dollar account and loves it. any advice vetran drivers. steve from Beloit wi.

I am on old 64C... an old army buddy does the Dollar General account with Schneider. He does pretty well with it even though he is an L/O. He lives in Iowa so I am sure his route is somewhere in the upper Midwest.

isnt dollar general a driver unload account? If so he might want something else

also yes Swift still does the team training, also its elogs these days so its a bit more controlled, you will make less money though so go with one of the others.

If you go with Schneider, ask about the tanker division; that's where the money is. Tanker work is easy money. Roehl is a good company also in WI.

I have two old duis in private auto. Roehl wont hire me because of one in 1979 and 1982. Schneider and millis I am looking at to start over in 2014. Schneider has the most opp. millis is mostly over the road and out two to three weeks at a time.

hi are you sure swift still does team driveing as a student the recruiter says no in Neenah wi because they don't have the freight any more to run like that. probably a lie, recruiters never lie do they. lol
