I will be attending the swift driving academy in Millington Tn next month. Is swift a good company to drive for? Thanks
YOu will get a mixed response here, mate . . . . but mostly negatve. Don't let it deter you. You have to start somewhere. I start on the 28th Good luck to you!
Swift shut down all of the schools except the Lewiston school. Reason I believe is to revamp for the new DOT standards and redo the range courses. Have not heard about any other reason that is verifiable. You will find that if you have 10 people that experience something and one of that 10 has a bad experience that one will tell significantly more people about the bad than the ones that experience a neutral or slightly pleasurable who will likely tell no one else. This comes from basic business psychology. Read all the information, leave the horse poo and filter and compare all information to another source to verify it. Then make your decisions.
Swifttrucker228, you might want to get a new handle or grow a thick skin. Swift is the biggest fish in the pond and allot of folks like to gun for it and you may get some of that.
Yes, but I don't remember the details. Wow, look what Google will do for you: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-executes-search-warrants-swifts-memphis.html
Here is the main point that the Swift dashers will try to hide: Swift Transportation spokesperson Dave Berry said in a prepared statement that his company was cooperating fully with law enforcement. We have been advised by law enforcement that we are not the actual target of the investigation, Berry said. There have been no conclusion to this investigation so we don't KNOW who or what was being investigated.
. Here's what everyone isn't telling you. The wait time, after training, for you own truck. I'm not refering to the wait on a trainer, after school. But the wait after training. As witnessed first hand on this thread. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../63911-merry-christmas-you-dont-have-job.html
I have heard there is a long waiting list after the time with the mentor so if you can handle not working for weeks or months without a check then go to swift. I would not want to wait weeks or months for a truck without a check not to mention if you go to a different trucking company instead of waiting for a truck they will stick you with a huge training bill and will put a negative thing on your dac report.
You'd better put your boots on, you're going to walk through a mile of crap on here for being a Swiftie! From a fellow Swift driver, welcome. Millington isn't the best of the Swift schools, but if you pay attention and do your best, you'll do fine. Good luck and let us know how you make out! Thanks! Russ
