A roadtest is a roadtest, usually. Plan on doing EVERYTHING, pre-trip, skills, driving, etc. Over the years, I've had roadtests from the safety guy, the mechanic, an off duty driver kicking around the terminal, the company owner. One time I even roadtested bobtailing around the block. Is there something you're worried about that may de-rail your test ? As in, "I can't back up worth a #####".

Swifts road test is definitely the hardest test out there! They make you 90 degree back, then parallel park, and then you have to do a 90 degree blindside between two trailers! They also do their testing during rush hour to see how you merge in and out of traffic. After all that they take you back to the yard and blindfold you and make you do a pre-trip! If you don't burn yourself you get extra points! They make you do all this with the truck running so be very careful checking the belt tension and the fan! Try not position yourself directly over the radiator when checking the fluid either. It can cause scalding burns when it shoots out at you! Also your final test of the pre-trip will be checking the tread depth while the truck is rolling at 10mph. You have to jog along side of it. I recommend going front to back. Do this when wiping too!

:biggrin_2559: You know I'm playing with you right? You do have to wear a helmet though!

You can use a hard hat, but it must be one with a chin strap!

I only have the typical construction type. May I rig a rubber bungee as a chin strap? That way, when the velocity tries to snatch it from my head it will snap back in place. Safety first!
