I was told a team makes .50 cpm as a whole so that would be a .25 cpm split,and was told that team drivers make an average of 500 miles more per week,which with my caculation would mean I would make less as a team driver,500 miles more isn't much. I want to know from current swift drivers if you guys are running double the miles of a solo or are you sitting alot and making less or the same as a solo driver?
@Chinatown Was turned down from prime due to my manager being spiteful and terminating me before my 2 weeks was up for my resignation,so prime declined me on those bases but can you answer this new question?

Ahh ... my bad. I got the impression from the other thread that your dad already worked for Swift. In that case, bag the flatbed idea. You should easily pull 5K miles running dry van or reefer and 6k is realistic. At it's core Swift is dry van company and that's where the freight is. I ran team dry van for month with friend when I started here, to get my time in to qualify for a lease. We averaged 6K a week.
No problem, thought someone stated it and I missed it..so I would get more miles running reefer? I liked that flatbed gets raises,but if they are doing less miles then I guess it wouldn't be worth it.
Can't answer that specifically about Swift. There's team outfits that pay more, but you need a cdl already. Get your obligation completed with Swift, then move on to a company like Old Dominion where teams can make up to $225K split. With corporate approval, Old Dominion can hire new cdl grads. Probably do as well teaming with Estes Express also, but need 12 mos experience there. TWT Refrigerated Service pays teams .60 cpm split and all you need is the cdl school diploma and no experience other than that.
They all get raises ... Besides with you and your dad both being rookies, keep it simple. I ran reefer for 9 months with my son ... wouldn't trade the experience for the world ... and wouldn't do it again.
Thanks,yeah after my 1 year I plan to jump over to estes and if all goes well with the teaming I plan to continue with my father over at estes. Funny thing is prime is calling me now saying they will overlook my situation as long as i come and drive for them.next week and to not let the cdl school know about my termination lol
