I have a recruiter from Memphis and am waiting for an orientation date. Nothing was ever said to me about only hiring teams and hazmat was never mentioned. My app stated that I have hazmat so they might not have said anything.

I have a friend starting Swift school in San Antonio at the end of the month. No mention of team driving.

I don't know if they are only hiring teams, but that was the only offer recently on the table from a one of their recruiters I spoke with and yes hazmat was also mentioned as required. I suspect it may have much to do with
area of the country where you are applying. I suspect more and more companies will use teams on their transcontinental runs as way to keep an edge on the railroads. With Warren Buffet investing Billions into the railroads I suspect the trucking industry is about to experience considerable more competition from the railroads than ever before. Mr Buffet, can use his influence in Washington, (He bought and paid for) to further restrict trucking and drivers. I've never seen the railroads advertise on TV & Radio before in my life time, but they are pushing the green image hot and heavy now. While state after state is coming down on trucking with more restrictions. None which has anything to do with the environment but all to do about redirecting money from flowing into one guys to another guys pocket.

I am starting in Lewiston on Monday 7/27 and they didn't mention anything bout teams or hazmat to me... It might just be a Memphis terminal thing...

I heard that they want teams to run between Memphis and Laredo. I heard it is a shuttle run and they want the hazmat for those lanes.
