Swift will not hire me because I live in NV

Called Swift trucking today to apply for a new career as a new truck driver and I was told they can not hire me because I live in las vegas nevada. Have you ever heard of such a thing? They did say once I got my cdl that they would hire me, so now where do I turn to,maybe CR England for schooling, can I get some input on this all so.

2 second google search, Go check those places out.

 

a couple of things could have happened. one is that the first person you spoke to was just wrong.

second, they may not have lanes in your particular area, to get you home often.

try another company, that's all there is to it.

 

You might try and look into community colleges. I'm enrolled at fort scott community college now and about to test out next friday. Good luck.

Since there is a distance of 7 hours, 6 minutes and 444.93 miles between you in Las Vegas, NV and the only Swift terminal around in Nevada, my guess is that they would not hire anyone from your town. Sorry.

 

I believe that Southern Refrigerated has runs to NV and takes students after CDL.

Also, I'm fairly certain that Swift has a Costco dedicated fleet running out of Salt Lake that services your area; might be called heavy haul (cupcake (j/k).

Sorry we had a guy who claimed that Swift HH wasn't REAL HH, so a couple of us playfully call it the Cupcake division just to keep him quiet....

Keep your head up. There are solutions to the problem and these guys will help ya find it!

 

The same thing happened to me here in CT. Was pissed when I found out. Ended up in endetured servitude to CRE. Start on 11/1.
