tarp is the governments plan to bail out bad debt from the banking system unless I'm missing something here.

now california has a program to help california based companies with the cost to upgrade there equipment because of there BS carb laws but seeing as the state is so broke it can't afford to pay it's own employees I doubt very highly anyone will see much of anything from that program. plus it's only for ca companies

    Brickman Thanks this.

Sounds like ANOTHER VERY GOOD reason to NOT haul freight to CA.

it's not the EPA. it is CARB (california air resource board) and the law isnt clear that even if you spend the money to upgrade that your will be legal. the only sure way is to have a new truck.
we'll just charge up front an extra fee to cover and fines incurred. But not everyone is in a position to do so

In texas the tceq will give you money for your truck...depending on model and year, it is a grant and you must destroy old engine with proof and keep new truck 5 years or so and most of your driving must be in texas, the amount varies with how polluting your truck is. I work with 3 people who did this, one got 108,000 towards a new pete the other got 30,000 towards a 60,000 kenworth. it takes time to do and they run out of money quick. They will also give you 3,000 to trade your 10 year old car for a new one or 3,500 towards a hybrid.
