Is this truck will be able to handle a dump trailer?

How heavy are the loads, and what type of end-dump is it?
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Where is he located?
-
35ft tri-axle end dump with around 60-62k lbs sand, trailer tare weight will be 20k lbs , terrain almost flat
Thanks -
Central Canada------North dakota
no mountains
THANKS -
It will do the job, not the best setup but this is the new way…..
46k rears and a 13-14k front would be nice. 24.5 talls with 3.70-4.10 gear and a 550 would be top shelf…..Last edited: Mar 20, 2024

Hi seems you no more about end dump trailer will a mack or kw day cab with wet kit be a good fit to sand and gravel.Best Regards
-
Both are solid trucks. Looking at a 20 year old truck, I’d go for the Mack. Newer, go KW. They both come in a broad range of specs, some of which are better for end dumping than others, for instance, you likely won’t want a 300” wheelbase, and 2.26 rears for pulling a dump.OliverCallenderIII Thanks this.

2.26 rears for pulling a dump. What is this and how does it come into play on different truck and trailer combinations?
Thanks in advance! -
A Triaxle is a truck has 3 axles under the bed.

Many of them Most weigh 20,000lb on the steering.
If your pulling a triaxle trailer
rarely will you exceed 12,500lbs on the steering.
