The "Platinum" shower experience. Sheesh! How about some ideas to make it worthwhile?

So through some random quirk of time/space (all the other showers were dirty) I got a PLATINUM SHOWER! *dramatic music*

Whopdy-doo, it's just like all the other showers except because of the condition of this location (redacted) it's pretty much below average of other places I've been.

(Makes you wonder how the other showers are? *shudder*)

So without blowing the bank, what are some quick investments T/A could make besides a stupid sign on the door to make these things worth it?

1.) handicapped shower hose! I've come across ada mandated showers before in other truckstops, they're HUGE and they have something you could put in any shower anywhere. A shower massage hose. It's bad enough that water pressure sucks most places and you get a choice between "the water we use to cook with" and "the snowpack outside is warmer", but without going into detail the hose is great for,,,, let's call it "southern comfort". You can't get the soap off everywhere from up above.

2.) how about a small MP3 jukebox? You get 3 songs from an iTunes account. It's a trivial thing really but I can't think of what else you can do to spruce things up. And really you should be in & out in under 30 minutes.

 

I'm not sure i'd want to use a shower hose that hundreds of dudes have held up against their junk. For me, just having a halfway clean shower and clean towels was good enough. Some of those showers out there leave you dirtier than when you went in, lol.

 

Strange. Last time I was provided a Platinum Shower, it came with two geishas (first hour free), a Jacuzzi, deluxe rain shower, fresh fruit tray, a bottle of California sparkling wine, and warmed towels and heated floor.

I think the OP got ripped off or maybe didn't use the right code phrase at the fuel counter.

 

The best showers out there smell like bleach in my opinion...lol!
Thinking of that I need to refill my little spray bottle!

I stopped in Angola IN the other day...The Loves actually had decent showers with good pressure.
It had a second shower head about stomach high.....was this for midgets? Never seen one of those!

 

After seeing it, why didn't you say you wanted the golden shower instead? I'm big ballin most months at Diamond Status, I'm talking attendants opening the doors, red carpet rolled out, big Montana and curly fries waiting for me type of service. Once you go diamond, you never go back.

 

I hate getting a shower with the handicap hose, seems almost all of them never wanna stay up high enough.

I tape those Frazier episodes nightly on my DirecTv DVR and watch them later. I had just watched the "Platinum Door" episode a few days before this thread came up and thought it sort of fits with the discussion and how it was progressing
