    I got popped in the West Los Angeles area for being 71’ long with a 48’ step deck and 265 wheelbase Pete a few years back, ordinance says only 65’ off the interstates. Cost me $171.00.

    day um.....only over a foot or so. at 40' mark, tandems over by 800lbs. figurin which is cheaper. lol. thanks.

    The statute you posted has nothing to do with kingpin to rear axle distance. I’d suggest finding a scenic route around the scales. They love to enforce the KPRA laws out there.

    If you don’t meet the KPRA then you also get dinged for being over length. When I got popped at Truckee with my 52ft spread in addition to the KPRA violation I also got written up for being over 65ft overall even though I was on I-80.
