So i pickedup this trailer on sat and noticed the tires are garbage. I called my company and they just come on back we have 2 tired here for the trailer. Mind u iam in cheyenne wyoming and shop is in kansas. I took pic and sent it in they still said tire is good to go. Tires get like that all the time, he had tje nerve to tell me the tires are supposed to do this. I am new to the industry but i dont truly think u can legallydrive on trailer tires like this can u.
As long as you have the minimum tread depth on the lowest spot, you're good to go. 2/32 or 1.6 mm. Even when they look awful. You're absolutely right to ask. And you're absolutely right to get them changed.
They're cupped due to under inflation ( company keeps turning the trailer , drivers never check the air ). They may technically be legal but your company is crap for telling you to run them and it's begging a scale officer to pull you in to check out the rest of your equipment
Yup, just check the air press. and roll with it. If you are uncomfortable with it, drive it 5 or 10 miles down the road and break off the valve stem or let the air out. Call your co. and tell them you need a flat repair. Problem solved.
