Too many gadgets in the cab!

    There ought to be a way to combine all of the gadgets we need into one massive hand-held unit. Is there a way to keep this under control? Can anybody add to this list?:

    1. Cell phone
    2. GPS/Garmin/Magellan/TomTom
    3. CB Radio
    4. AM/FM Radio
    5. XM Satellite Radio
    6. Police/Fire/EMS Scanner
    7. Ipod/MP3 Player
    8. Laptop computer
    9. Weather Radio
    10. Shortwave Radio
    11. CD/Tape Deck
    12. Portable DVD player

    Did I miss anything? :biggrin_2553:

    I guess you could add:

    * DirecTV/DISH Network receiver
    * Playstation game console
    * Television set
    * Blackberry/Palm Pilot

    I'm sure others will add to the list.

    You can take your list down to 5 if you wanted.
    1. Iphone, Ipod posiblae GPS in Iphone.

    2. CB, Weather and Shortwave

    3. AM/FM, XM, Weather, CD and DVD.

    4. GPS if you wanted a larger screen to follow then the Iphone.

    5. Laptop

    As for the scanner you could keep this if you wanted to take the chance of getting a ticket and/or losing you unit because they are illegal in a commercial vehicle.

    Like mentioned before, the iPhone actually will do everything that is listed there except scan and shortwave. Well... and play tapes, lol. I use my computer for all of that stuff, although I don't use a scanner, and haven't owned a tape since I had a Member's Only jacket...

    Ok. We took on the project and have the solution. We built a device with all of those built-in, plus an 8-track player. It shoots the information directly into your eyeballs when worn properly. Only current bug is that you'll never be able to again have children.

    The prototype is a little bulky but we are trying to scale it down.
    Attempting to get DOT approval now.
