IMG_3595.jpeg Did my pre trip and noticed one of my brake chambers was hanging lower than the other. The first pic from above where you can see silver metal is the one that’s hanging. Looks as if something may be broken off. The second pic from the side is the other normal brake chamber. What’s missing?

The mounting bracket for the chamber is broken Do not drive this if at all possible. The brake is not working for that wheel/axle. From the condition of the push rod, it looks like this has been broken for a while.
    This is an OOS condition.

    I’m abou 30 miles from
Called road service and they told me to deliver the load. I’m 30 miles from the customer and my appointment is tomorrow at 9 am. The TA I’m at said they wouldn’t be able to get the part and fix it until Tuesday. Tight spot.

It's gonna need a s cam tube. Not a hard fix. Me personally, I would deliver. As long as your other brakes are good, i think you're legal under the 80% rule???? But you need to secure it.

I've broken 2 over the last 2 years and drove them home, but my truck too

Did you get the drive and deliver in writing?
    guess it’s your call.

The chamber mount is broken. The only thing keeping it on the truck is the air lines and the push rod. I am not one to mess with brake issues. Just not worth the hassle.

    tscottme and xzmpt Thank this.

just did one 2 weeks ago, had to change the spider to, put a strap around it so the shoes weren’t dragging and drove her home, not wasting money on a road call or tow when I can do it myself, and know it was done right

Yeah you can, but the OP was asking a question about what needs to be done which tells us that he should not do the work himself.
