image.jpg I drive a 1999 e7-427 Mack 6 axle dump truck. So we got the front steer tires, the front, mid and back pony’s, the first pair of dual tires, and the rear pair of dual tires. Now, the INNER TIRE that’s on the FIRST PAIR of DUAL TIRES on the DRIVER SIDE is losing lots of tread on the inner edge of the tire. What could be causing the tread loss? I’m not sure what it could be. Could the tire be hitting something? I added a picture so you can have a clearer understanding of what I mean. Thanks in advance!

It is an alignment issue. That or the tires on the other side of the truck are smaller diameter.

Generally if the tires arent the same diameter across the axle, the trucks differential will have to work harder.

Looks like it is cupping on that edge at the same time.
Could be a loose wheel bearing on that wheel.

    Shocks.

Replace all of them then get an all axle alignment.

From the looks of it you are due for a tire.

Did you replace the tire next to it with a different size tire?

Well it could be all thats been mentioned. Does it do that on previous tires in that position? Doesn't look like a shame to the tire, its wore out anyway. Like mayby that wear pattern may have started on a different position somewhere? Do you keep track of miles on tires? Personally i would put new ones on. Probably both sides, to keep things straight. (If whoever owns the truck had the money. )I have steer tires wear stupid and all i did was changed brands and wear was perfect. Also check their psi at regular intervals. Not say'in you don't.
