Trouble with 3 Year Work History

So, I am looking to get into a career being a class A CDL driver.

I am 24 years old and I got out of the Army 3 years ago. I have bounced from job to job over the last 3 years and I want stability for my family. I have worked 9 jobs in 3 years and I have been having a hard time finding a carrier giving me a shot.

I know that it looks like I cant hold a job, I have never been fired, but I also havent been working any job that can set my family up with stability long term.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to go or what to do. I want to embark on a career as a truck driver and I am having a hard time with this.

The mega carriers really don't care. They even hire homeless people and people with felonies. I doubt they would care about your work history.

 

Ive been turned down by Wilson and another major carrier I cant remember

 

Where is your location; state & nearest town/city?

 

I might be wrong but I think Wilson is a step above the Swifts, Werner's, and CR Englands of trucking and might have higher hiring standards. If you really want to drive a truck, you might have to start with one of those first. Chinatown will probably have some better recommendations.

 

Dont really understand why people can't even put the state there from on the Avatar Profile, how about a zip code, are they on the run , afraid to get spammed , how many times has Chinatown had to ask.

 

Get Paid to Earn Your CDL

 

Since your pay is probably not great at the jobs you may be eligible to get a WOIA grant for CDL school, no repayment or loan required, if you qualify. Some trucking schools & employers may also have a VA benefit program to help you.

I don't know if the Driver Leasing companies will hire a new CDL driver, but it may help you establish a more stable work history (you work for the Driver Leasing co, while being assigned to various trucking companies) and "taste" what working at several companies without adding to the "clutter" of your job history. Driver Leasing companies are not the same as trucking companies that offer to lease you a truck. BTW, don't lease a truck from anyone until you've been a W-2 company driver for a year. Don't work for CR England. Worst company in the industry.

I would emphasize your job switching is your attempt to provide for your family during COVID, etc, if that is true-ish.
