Just got one of those air blow guns for inside the cab. I am pretty sure I followed the instructions in installing it properly, but it's leaking air at every possible point. I'm pretty sure some plumber's tape will eliminate the leaks at the threads (I hope!), but the gun itself seems to be leaking at the trigger. How do I fix this? Can it be fixed? Or did I wind up with a lemon blower kit?

If it is one of the cheap ones you get at the truck stop, that’s the problem.

I usually use the Teflon pipe dope, works better than the tape.
Gun might just need a little lubrication. But you can always get a better quality one from a tool store.

I've never owned one before... Where/how should it be greased?

Just a couple of drops of air tool oil into the air line intake.

Will 3-in-1 oil do? Or WD40? Other than those all I have on-hand are motor oil and 5th wheel grease.

WD 40 is bad on o-ring parts, use tool oil!

    Oil what?

It is a blow gun with a plunger valve.

    Should never need lubercating.

    Where does it leak?

Did you get compression fittings with ferrure or just push on connectors?

Teflon tape should not be used on compression fittings, the plastic tube has the ferrule that goes over it and a support tube that goes into it. If it doesn't, buy them. If the compression fitting is installed right, it never leaks.

I buy vacuums for the trucks, I don't allow these things in the truck, they blow all the crap all around the cab and you never get anything clean with them.
