    Hello out there-
Leaving for orientation next week. New to the buz. Can anyone recommend a good GPS unit? I was looking at the PC Miler app for my phone since I haven't been working and am low on funds. I do have a motor carriers atlas to rely on.

    Thanks.

the atlas is all you need, gps is a distraction that can misguide you into very bad situation, like low brides, non approved truck routes.save your money.

I second that, but some swear by them.

and then there are those that can't find their way out of the sleeper without one.lol

I don't have one and don't intend on buying one.

I call for directions and check them on a map.

oh, and read that atlas. lots of useful info in those front pages.

I say paper first and after you know how to use it then get a GPS if you want one.

Let me get to the house and will upload a photo of my New GPS showing me driving in a field on the screen, they are very unreliable.

I use my GPS to find truck fuel LOL, it is a good log timer and miles counter and that is it. To use it as a worthy source to navigate is never my suggestion or recommendation.

    Agree the paper works
