I live just north of McKinney, TX and I am looking to find a job that's more local than the past 3 years I've been running OTR and need to be able to be more present in my 4 kids lives. I have 1 year dry van and 2 years in food grade tankers. The past 2 years doing anything from loading raw milk, port loads, training, becoming a driver trainer and so on taking every opportunity to make myself more valuable. I've gained a lot of valuable experience with no accidents, no declined loads, no tickets, and all clean inspections.

I think the direction I would like to go is into fuel, cryo or LTL, but ultimately I'm open to any good opportunities. I welcome learning anything needed to be squared away and get the job done. I have no problem putting in the hours when the pay reflects. I currently run my clock out every week running Ag/raw milk. On my next home-time I will be getting my x endorsement as well as doubles this month.

So I'm looking for any recommendations for companies north of Dallas?
    - I need to be able to make 100k+
    - Home every night would be preferred, but would be open to a couple nights out if needed
    - Open to days or nights as long as it's not constantly alternating
    - Benefits are big for me as I have my 4 kids

Thanks for any and all help

Those food service/delivery jobs will work you into an early grave.

    Look at/for:
    • UPS
    • ABF Freight
    • Old Dominion Freight
Fuel: apply only with the private fleets. Don't waste your time with the 3rd-party carriers.

Cryo: same info as that above, for fuel.

From what I've read, the fuel and cyro companies have made hiring drivers more strict due to so many experienced tanker drivers available.
You should try anyway if they fit your wants and needs. The pay is good at the LTL/linehaul companies and much less stress than dealing with delivering fuel to gas stations.

Another vote for Food Service. Start early, done early with Overtime. 2 of my boys run for them. Make over 100k. One works 4/10’s but usually seems more like 4/12’s and some.

I generally keep an eye on those ltl companies and have apps in with the ones that have openings.
Any food service companies outside of sysco you recommend?
