Perhaps the web browser you are using is infected. If you use Internet Explorer, get Firefox. If you use firefox, try opera or chrome.

Should be able to just install the update without uninstalling. May want to give Opera a try.

Are you by chance using ESET Nod 32 ??

If so, they are having a scripting error in their download page. I've contacted them several times, and have yet to get a response.

    Cybergal Thanks this.

Try uninstalling the older version of FireFox and installing the new one.

    I use windows live onecare
Works on 3 PC and have not had any trouble with it running on 7 different PCs
Try it free for 90 days
Seems to run very clean with out being a system hog

I used the BETA version of "One Care(less)" and it seemed to work fine, until I paid for it and started updating it. Three times; Microsoft's own updates KILLED OneCare and it was a big pain-in-da-butt to fix it. Third time I cancelled, uninstalled and got something else.

Microsoft is discontinuing OneCare this summer. The good news is they are coming out with a new antivirus/antispyware program called "Morro" and it will be FREE.
