Removed exhaust manifold because of 2 studs broken in head. Extracted studs and noticed all 6 cylinders with oil in them. Valve seals leaking or ???
Some oil on the stems is normal. The seals are not 100% and some oil needs to leak down to lubricate the stems in the valve guides.
yea i know thats normal but its looking like alittle too much and where the exhaust manifold was leaking exhaust you can see oil was also leaking out...its not excessive but i think alittle more than normal, probably nothing to worry about
is it the cylinders where the turbo mounts? and is it an a-cert? the top turbo is notorious for leaking oil when they start to fail and it will run back in the manifold when not running making it look like the cylinders are pumping oil.
yea its an acert and yes the top turbo is beginning to leak but all six cylinders are wet with oil and you can see the valves are soaked...but anyways customer doesnt wanna repair it cause hes selling the truck
mine did that when it was an a-cert. but i just looked in the ports where the turbo bolts on with a camera. wet all the way to the valve guide seals. ended up being the junk reman turbo i installed one week before. the acert is known to carbon up the engine. it could be the guide seals leaking from not keeping the oil clean also. guess you will never know since he's selling it.
