Hi there guys, we recently pull the D13 engine out the 780 Volvo truck and got a N14 red top in it, everything is fine except for not having hot air in the cab, any ideas?

The mechanic who did the conversion set the two hoses coming in the cab from the top of the thermostat housing, the hoses feel warm/hot but not hot air is coming in the cab.

The APU is also hookup to the truck radiator and is not giving any hot air either, just blowing cold.

You must have a shutoff valve on the engine turned on so heat doesn't flow through the heater core.

Did you check to see if you have thermostats installed on your engine?

Doesn't look like water would flow the way it is set up. Been awhile since I looked @ a N-14, but coolant flow to heater core should be somewhere after WP discharge and return should be to water pump suction side.

It's there supposed to be a channel split inside the cavity on top of the WP where the hoses are coming from?

Engine do have thermostat and its working properly, 170 on highways, 180-190 on city traffic, fan coming in at 190. Shut-off valve was in the original tubing system replaced now by the two blue hoses.

When to a TA today, they charge me $240 and said it's nothing they can do, water do not want to flow thru the heater core.

See in this picture how there is water shut-off valve in water manifold by rear head and one @ water pump inlet tube. You need to plumbing it something like this so water will actually flow. Head valve will be under pressure and one @ water pump will be under slight suction.

    Justrucking2 and Troady Thank this.
