Volvo - What does VCB stand for?

    Please anybody explain me that What VCB stands for? and its function on D12C. It is on top of engine between injectors. If it fails engine turned off or not? Does it manage injectors? Any ideas would be really appreciated

    I only know it to be a Volvo Compression Brake, hence the "VCB", which is Volvo's engine brake.
    I believe it is 1/2 of the system and interacts with a "VEB" (Volvo Exhaust Brake), but others here that specialize in Volvo may be able to help beyond this basic info.

    It's volvo compression brake and I f it fails it will not shut off a engine I n most cases Unless the solenoid or the housing breaks it's does you're second stage of engine braking first stage is is behind turbo don't try to remove and leave off cuz u will have low oil psi of physical re moved
