    1. Home ... it appears you need to have a home address..We plan on selling our home when we go OTR as a Team,It doesn't seem logical for us to have an actual home just sitting there empty, plus we plan on using our home time in different locations.. like say maybe a week in WY camping at Yellowstone or maybe in Ca at Yosemite or maybe parking in Dallas and jumping on a plane for a week in Mexico "love Playa del Carmen"

My parents have a house in the same area as we live now so would using their address be acceptable ?

    2. Stable job history.. ? I have been on my job for 12 yrs now but my wife has been a stay at home Mom for the past 12 yrs . We plan on going to school and team driving after the kids graduate... Now" ladies" don't get me wrong on this I believe being a housewife and mother is a very hard and rewarding JOB" But the fact remains she has not worked outside the home for more than a decade.. is this going to be a problem ?? We have 3 yrs before the kids graduate and time to have her get a REG job but is it nessesary or no ?

Thanks for any advice ... I'm really learning to appreciate the truck drivers and the job y'all do...

I have a few more ? but I'll start with these to and see how it goes..

    1. Not a problem. Many of us use that tactic. They just need a valid mailing address (not a PO box), and it should match your license. So when you get your CDL make sure you use that address.

    2. That should not be a problem either. She will probably need a couple notarized letters from family, friends, other associates attesting to that.

Yes, it would be better if she could get a 'regular' job - just to show some current work history.
Even a part time job, that she has been consistant and reliable at, would look much better when applying for a new job.
And since it seems you have the time, it makes sense to do so.

i agree with moosetek13, i don't think the job history will be a problem but stable work history won't hurt either... and a stay at home mom is hard work. my wife "works more hours than i do it seems like, i know i couldn't do it..

    good luck to you both

Look into expediting (FedEx Custom Critical , Panther ). If you go to a preapproved school they will start you out as a team with full pay and no trainer . You will be in a straight truck but your wife will love the huge fully equipped sleeper. The trucks are also automatic.

Expediting is best suited for your desired lifestyle. 75% availability is the norm . Work 3 weeks then take a week off and you choose your loads . See how often an OTR megacarrier is willing to give a team a full week off.

That sounds really nice .. But !! we wouldn't have to take that week off every month ?... We are going in this to make $$$$$$ not to take time off a lot ... on ocassion would be ok..But We would rather be moving most of the time ... like maybe 1 week every 3-4 months would be ok or 2 weeks every 6 months but not 1 week every month , I would suspect that week each month would not be a paid week off ?...other than that it sound pretty sweet.. also can you give an idea what the pay is like and how they tend to treat their drivers ?

Thanks you for the info ,I'm very intrested in this idea..

If you contact the FECC recruiter she will send you all the averages from the previous year on each class truck - miles , revenue , availability , etc. Check out the Expedite and Hotshot Forum here.
