I was placed out of service for not having both of my hearing aids. Is this a big deal? However, I only got a warning ticket. I know it's going to go on my DAC report but I was wondering if companies would be less likely to hire me for being placed out of service??

How did they let you continue without having both your hearing aids? Someone bring it to you? Only a warning ticket because it is bogus bs. Just curious, how many csa points is that good for?

Yeah being able to hear is overrated. People who need prescription glasses shouldn't wear them either.

The company I work for sent me back home to get my other hearing aid fixed because it was broken. I was going to get it fixed after I got back home.

I don't think that will affect you much as far as getting hired. It will go on your PSP so they will be able to see why you were put OOS so it probably wont be a big deal.

So tell me - should drivers wearing ear bud headphones with their iPod cranked to the max be put OOS as well? Because I'm sure they couldn't hear any better than the OP with one hearing aid in...

They are driving with them illegally and should be fined and out of service as well.

Same goes for having the Sirius / XM radio cranked to the max in the cab? Or perhaps the newer trucks where you can't hear much of ANYTHING outside the truck when the doors / windows are closed? Or even the older trucks that are so noisy that you STILL can't hear anything going on outside?

I had the music on loud and was driving in Oklahoma and guess what. When the left rear tire blew on the trailer, I heard it over the music.
