I don't know if it's all the DC's or not but Wal-Mart DC in Gas City, IN has slowly been seeing less and less Werner trucks and more Schneider trucks. I heard from some drivers that Werner lost the Wal-Mart account. One of the reasons being that Wal-Mart is tired of having it's trailers and equipment damaged. They gave the account to Schneider but informed them that all drivers on there account had to have 3 years experience. Anyone else heard anything about this?

Companies gain and lose accounts pretty regularly. It's not exactly life changing news within the industry when it does happen.

Is this more truck stop/cb rumors? Or do you have a legitimate source of this imformation?

No it's legit. I know companies change all the time but I just thought that might mean something to someone who works that account.

So it's legit cause you heard a driver say that? Sorry, I don't trust drivers. They generally are the worse habitual liars in the world.

That's fine. I wasn't trying to start anything anyways. But I pass this DC everyday and well bright orange Schneider trucks kinda stand out.

I suppose it's possible, as Schneider handles quite a bit out of several other DCs.

As far as the 3-year rule? Well, from what I've seen (I'm a Schneider driver, but for system, not for WM dedicated), many of their dedicated tractors have been trashed. Now, many of these as I understand it are slip-seated, so who knows?

If SNI got that account, I hope we take care of it. But I'll believe it when I see it.

So is that your legitimate source? You pass the DC every day?

Schneider, JB Hunt, Werner, Swift, & many other carriers haul for Wal-Mart. It's no big life changing news. Schneider may have taken over a Werner run, but I gaurentee you that Werner is still pulling Wal-Mart.

I've got a call into Sherlock Holmes right now. When he gets back to me, we'll get this mystery solved for sure.
