Finding a good school is so nerve racking. And my case is no different. Anyone familiar with my area of West Palm Beach,FL please pass along your recommendations!!! I visited The CDL School in Lake Worth today and was interested in there 120 advanced course. I will be meeting with Metropolitan Trucking and Technical Institute tomorrow but the guy who answered the phone wasn't overly professional?!?!? I might try SAGE in Ft. Pierce as they seem good. And now I see a vocational school in Davie,FL that's half the price of The CDL School and twice as many hours. The problem is The CDL School trains in Miami which is over an hours drive south of me, SAGE is an hour north of me, Vocational School is an hour and twenty minutes southwest of me. The only one left that's fifteen minutes from me is Metropolitan Trucking and Technical Institute. I know it's ultimately my decision but again anyone familiar with these school have any good advice!!!!

I dont know about the ones you mentioned but when i went to Roadmaster in Tampa, there were alot of guys from Miami and West Palm Beach and they were staying in a Hotel just on the other side of Hwy 301. Now Roadmaster is up there in $$$$ but you will have acces to dozens of top trucking companies.

I actually went with Metropolitan Trucking & Technical Institute in West Palm Beach. Met with them earlier today and they offered me a 184 hour course for just under $4000. The other school I talked to offered a 120 hour course right around $4000. The other contributing factor is Metropolitan is a 15 minute drive from me, versus the other school which is in Miami (just over an hour drive). I'm not hearing about a long commute if I can help it.

    Go to Miami one:

    CDL Metropolitan Trucking
    398 NE 79th St, Miami
    (305) 756-4235

i sent a friend there who had already passed the tests at dmv,
so he went just to learn how to drive.
He paid over 1000$ but they let him train as much as he needs to be able to pass it.
He got his cdl in less than 10 days.
    Good luck!!!

Yeah I see they have a Miami branch but I'd rather not have to drive all the way to Miami. LOL It's funny that I'm training to become a professional driver but don't want to drive!!!! No seriously the WPB branch is only 15 mins away versus the miami branch which is just over an hour.

Personally, I chose The CDL School INC, Miami and I am very glad I did. The instructors were very knowledgeable and took the time to patiently show and re-show me the areas I was weak in. The testing was very strict and though I was able to pass my skills test after three times and my Road Test after the first try, it showed me what I needed to work on.
