Greetings. I was planning on applying for tanker jobs once I get my CDL, but I enjoy the physical work that I'm doing now, so I'm interested in food service jobs too. Thanks.

Sysco uses a handtruck and takes priduct down a ramp from trailer. Mcklane uses a liftgate and they take it off with a pallet jack.

Food service gets old quick. The days go by fast and you make good money but its not just the hard labor thats tough but working in the middle of the night. Even the "day shift" at my company starts at 230 am. You pretty much spend your days off just sleeping.

Night work is my only concern but I figure I'll probably end up working nights one way or another, whether it's food service or OTR night driving.

I started at 4 and 5am at Sysco. I didn't think the work with that hard. Some of the customers can be a real pain and some kitchens they leave crap in your way and greasy stairs lol.
