What do you use to double check your pay to what the company comes out with? I've read stories about companies "accidentally" shorting drivers. How do you keep track to make sure everything adds up?
We use ‘Big Road’. Everything is on your smartphone. Then ‘Paycheck Flex’ to print off your pay stub. This employer has everybody hourly.
I have my notebook that I use to record load information. All I do is look back over the week to add up the miles. As xsetra said... pen and paper. Not really rocket science.
As an owner operator I do a spreadsheet. As a company driver I just had a folder. Right side is loads I’ve done, left side is loads that were paid.
When I was OTR, which was quite some time ago. I used a notebook which I wrote in almost every day. Miles for the load and paid miles, good or bad parking, food and motels. Messed up shippers and receivers. Everything
A spreadsheet or a notebook works well. Depending on your company's pay stub simply list your miles per trip plus expenses or detention/breakdown pay, etc. Or store your miles per week with trip numbers or however your company tracks each trip.
