What does “FT” mean for Sysco Foods?

I started a thread about a month ago asking about Sysco. There are currently 2 job openings on Indeed in Douglas, Ga. Both of them is titled “CDL A Delivery Truck Driver”, but one of them has “FT” in parentheses. The “FT” position requires 1 year of experience, whereas the non-‘FT’ encourages recent graduates to apply.

May I assume that “FT” means “Full-sized Trailer”? I’ve seen many Sysco trucks pulling a short trailer, but I’ve seen others with a normal 53 ft trailer. Is the pay any better for that position? Perhaps there are less stops and more driving on the routes for the “FT” position?

    call them and ask..??

otherwise, maybe..."full trailer", as in one or 2 stops, then return, get another trailer, go out, come back, get another trailer, go out....

    Concorde Thanks this.

    Full truckload
    As opposed to LTL.
    So line haul basically.

I suspect, it’s just two different adverts for the same position. It’s hard to say how the algorithms work on where you’re seeing listings. And, it could simply be a matter of two different HR people working on posting all their openings and there was some crossover. But, “FT” is full-time.

Sysco lists those positions with a full description in the listing. Plus, those are usually listed as OTR, from what I’ve seen.

Well, when I called them when I was looking last year that's what I was told by Sysco (Detroit terminal)

Other terminals might be different, but that's what it means here.

    Zonno and ducnut Thank this.

In other words, from terminal to terminal? Does this mean less physicality than the ltl (less-than-truckload) position?
