I got my CDL A and drove for about 1 month did not work out with that company. My doctor put me on long term disability I can stay at home with the girls and make around 350 to 400 a week pluss not have to pay a baby sitter 170 a week.after 2 years I would like to drive will my CDL still be good and will a company hire me with some training. Thanks
Long term disability will not look good with any trucking co. About 1 month with a trucking co will not look good either.
thats what I thought but Im not in real bad shape I worked in a paint plant for 17 years I started getting sick alot my last 2 years doctor said it was from all the fumes and dust I have not been sick since I left there about 6 months
Truck co's are very picky about any kind of disability, sickness, unemployment gaps, etc, etc. Many co's weed out a lot of these in orientation. You might get a prehire only to find your riding back home on a bus.
When a person has long term disability, unfortunately it raises red flags in the trucking industry. YOUR CDL is good till it expires but you would have to renew your medical card by a DOT physical.
