I've always wondered this. I know someone driving for werner on the dollar tree account and he has 4 preventables in just under a year but he has a 100% safety score/always on time.

so this got me thinking. what is the max number of preventables a driver can have before he is let go? Anyone know of any drivers with a lot of them?

1 is too many. But it all depends on the damage done... prob their's were property damage to a minor degree.

Werner probably paid out of pocket if it was minimal..... to keep the driver, on the Dollar account. The turnover for those routes are thru the roof. They're probably happy to still HAVE him~!

I would hope it all depends on the accident/incident.

Dollar accounts puts you in plenty of places where you can hit #### because of tight spaces. Mix that with rookies being thrown out and you have high accidents.

You rub something, and that person calls it into your boss saying you wrecked his precious plushmobile it's preventable and you are disposed of. There are 50 more in the orientation you just finished last week waiting to take your truck next week.

My post is extremely over simplified for those who can benefit. But everyone is disposible these days, even me. How do we run the USA?

H1b visa, Immigrants and Dreamers who are born American Citizens. They have a birth rate three to four times ours. Eventullly they will decide if they will still tolerate truckers 50 years from now and in what form? RObot, computer? Hybrid? Remote control computer online game style? (That would be interesting...) and so on. I won't be around that. Thank god.

The bottom line is this. YOU the trucker has no value to the company who can replace you in a moment. The second you run up sufficient costs against the company, you are gone. And likely not able to collect unemployement because you hit people or people's things and break em. IF they really get mad, they might sue you. (Ive been sued twice. YOU will have to go back about 4000 posts to find the stories)

Eventually OTTO Computer robots will have sole control of that truck. Go here, load, go there deliver.

Who fires OTTO when he hurts someone or breaks people's stuff?

That's what I was referring to when replying about Werner "sweeping it under the rug..." nobody wants those dang Dollar accounts.

Because safety departments do not want to spend time investigating an accident or incident and just label everything preventable. For example they will say that a lighting strike could have been preventable if you had the truck in this position. I know it sounds stupid but sometimes they can come up with some wild classifications. There are preventable accidents, just a little common sense comes into play.
