Which mobile broadband do you use (if any?). I see a few topics here where people just pay for it at the truckstops. I am looking into Verizon but it sucks that they limit to only 10GB per month. Even though I do regular surfing and stream Hulu and Youtube movies every now and then, I seem to use 20GB per month with Comcast so I figure I will go over a Verizon 10GB plan for $80 per month. I know Verizon has excellent service everywhere though. Expensive but always available.

I don't have it yet, but I been shopping.

I looked recently at Walmart and yes Verizon is a ripoff. The salesman showed me Virgin Mobile which runs off the Sprint network which is unlimited for $50. You can get either the USB or mifi. Compared to others, it seems like a good deal.

I think the website is broadband2go.com or just search out Virgin Moblie broadband.

I searched this forum which linked to a best buy review regarding Virgin Mobile and every review I read said that their service is horrible.

Cricket used to have a true unlimited plan that used Verizon networks. Now all of the unlimited plans have gone away.
I have an iphone with a hotspot option. Unlimited on the phone, 2GB/month on the hotspot when I hook it to my laptop. If I watch videos, I hook my phone to my TV with an AV cable and use my slingbox through the phones unlimited plan. Works for me!

Check out Mellenicom I heard they're good and they have a unlimited plan that is $69.99 and I believe they run off the Verizon towers.

Like most everything else, I think you get what you pay for. I have Verizon and pay like 69 bucks a month for 5gig, but have never even come close to using it all. Their coverage is worth paying for. I don't do movies and such via my computer, just mostly forums, email, facebook, etc...

I was going to go to Mellenicom about a year ago but they had done away with their unlimited plan. Looks like it's back! Cool! I still like my iphone set up

There really is no true unliited plan. Check the fine print. My data plan for my phone says unlimited but they will start to charge by the MB if you go over 5GB a month. Honestly when driving you will use nowhere near the bandwidth you use at home, no time if you are using your hours wisely. I use pdanet to tether my laptop to my android phone and use that to connect to the internet.

I fall under Verizon's unlimited plan. It's not limited but it says if I am in the top 5% of data users they may slow my connection down to keep me from hogging the connection.

So how much you use Gears? I don't have a clue what I use. I don't do all the downloading either. I prefer Verizon if I know I wouldn't incur extra charges or be cut off. My choice here at the house is dialup or take a chance on Verizon broadband. My cellphone gets 3 bars at the house. Is that any indicator?

Seems like Norton does 110-150 mb a week and windows update about half that. That's almost 1 gig there.
