In particular East and West Texas. Are new guys really being put into tankers and Class A trucks? Or are they starting in something smaller? I know it's a broad question but I'm anxious to know. I'll have a year vac tanker soon and I'm trying to weigh my options. I am in a Class B 10 wheeler and I have all of my endorsements and a TWIC. I also have a Class A. Thinking Corpus Christi.
I've heard that the oil field jobs are drying up. Most are in Class A trucks. Some 18 or more wheels. Oil field isn't paying like it used to since larger companies have entered offering lower rates for the same work.
I'm leaving the oil field, there is some work in ND, west Texas but all of what's left to be had is in S. Texas. You must be able to put together at least 6mo-1yr exp. But like my friend said, big guys have moved in south Texas and or other bottom feeders. What was 500/300 day pay is now $165 if you're lucky. To answer your question, they run same stuff you see everyday with more T800's then anything.
