Isn't the good stuff down at Yuma and Nogales and Texas crossings right now...?

I don't generally get down that far. But both my main customers had a falling out this week. So I will need to find a new solution.

I can only say "GASP" to this thread.

I will add I make a lot more to deliver to California, than stuff leaving the communist state. If not for the good rate to go there, there'd be no point whatsoever.

The best part is the fuel that is $1.25 more than in Arizona. I think the difference in IFTA rate between the two is $0.20 or cents.

Your part right, but it needs to be closed along the Sierra Nevada's where the communist state butts up against The United States.

Supply and demand. Capacity vs load ratio. But one thing that’s hard to not consider is the loan program that gets extended to out of country new comers for start up business’. Like hotels, restaurants, etc and trucking! I don’t have much hard proof to back this up but from what I hear, the programs that are in place allow discounted loan programs for those who migrate and do US business in certain industries.

Ever wonder why that man from Eastern Europe is here in the US, can barely speak English, but has his own truck and trailer? From conversations with the old hands, they tell me the g o v pays for these start up business’ but many just make the money, send it back, avoid tax’s, and disappear when the loan deadline is due.

So, if this is true, this hurts trucking. Folks come over, just haul for whatever because their happy to be in America; send the money back, Ignore the loan contract and dip on over back to the country that they came from, knowing that they lived it up and sent money home. Maybe even enough to live good for 10+ years in their home country.

IDK, but if it’s true, then it is definitely a sore on the foot of the spot market.

I've been doing this 21 years now, and I've dealt with a broker..........................once.

Maybe, you should just cut that guy out of your equation.

I did a cross dock for someone this week. Three guys in the truck. One owned it and did the load planning while the other two drive. Only the load planner/owner spoke English.

They were trying to get the weight right on two loads they booked on their one trailer going to Texas.

I've no issue with any of that.

Your post explains why the only reason our country stands today is because of our nuclear deterrent.
Other people are hungry. They are willing to do what it takes. We are soft.

Of course both sides have short range missiles that go mach 9 now. That's 5 minutes to target. So it might not matter all that much for much longer anyway.
