AvGas is highly leaded aviation gasoline.

Same here driving for Schwerman out of Nashville. Phosphoric Acid to 48 states and Canada. Unload, then deadhead back to Nashville. Pays the same, empty or loaded.

    "AvGas"...yes, that's aviation fuel.

    Bulk commodities....:

    • Acids
    • Paint ingredients
    • Certain food-grade items (bourbon, citrus-peel extract)
    • Super-cooled/liquified gasses (examples: liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid helium)
    • Resins
    • Anhydrous ammonia

...there are of course still others....besides those previously mentioned.....that list shoud get you started.

AvGas - aviation fuel , mostly to airports that don't have pipelines.
Grondyke and KAG do a lot of that around the US.

Chemical waste can travel far depending on which incinerator accepts that particular kind of hazmat waste. Liquid or solid waste. They can come in containers from abroad just to be disposed of here in the US (I picked up a container with one single pallet in the Jacksonville port to be incinerated in north Alabama).
I have hauled chemicals from Axis AL to Lockport NY. Turned around and brought a finished product back to Alabama. I have hauled totes in reefers, dry bulk products and liquid bulk from the East Coast all the way to Los Angeles. It all depends on what your employer specializes on hauling.

How many cents per mile did Schwerman pay you? What timeframe was this (so I can adjust for inflation if necessary)?

I made avg. $72G per year and cpm was 37 cents.
Accessorial pays made up the difference. Worked there 5 years.
15 yrs. ago. Also, get a pension; only need to work there 5 years for a pension.
