I need a reefer that does not cost an arm and a leg to obtain. Carrier told me it would be $425 a week and I looked at him like he had s#!t on his face. I'm in So Cal and the prices are outrageous! I'm close to Fontana, any info would be useful.... I know, "move out of Cali".... I'm working on it

425 a week is highway robbery. Dm bowman maybe? I think they have reefers to rent also. We pay 400 a month on each van. Maintenance included, both trailers are 2 years old

    Check www.truckpaper.com

Check out all the used and new trailer dealers on Valley Blvd, Slover Ave and Cherry Ave.

Call McKinney, Ryder, Penske, XTRA Lease, they all rent trailers.

So a New reefer costs about 2.5 times what a new dry van costs, the residual value drops far more significantly than a dry van, and has FAR more maintenance. You’re also paying insurance on your rentals where you typically don’t whe you rent from the carrier your leased to.
So 2.5*400=$1,000 a month, add in $100 a month for insurance, $150 in additional depreciation, and $75 a month in additional “included maintenance” and your at $1325 a month. While $1800 a month is on the high side, it’s certainly not highway robbery for a late model reefer.

Not to mention they are so much easier to damage.

You won’t find it to be any cheaper in the Midwest. Reefers are expensive. Get used to it, go to van, or go buy your own.

There was one in my area for $1000 a month . I considered it but it seemed like a lot of effort for a little bit more money than van .
