Im a new carrier and im looking for a company that will rent me a flatbed . The bigger leasing companies want me tobe in business for ayear. Anybody no of any smaller places?
Hale Trailer and Brake... www.haletrailer.com I just got approved for no $$$ down on a purchase of a 2014 Dry Van... I've been looking at lease to own, rental, and purchase options... all of the major players (Penske, etc), want too much... they quoted me $450 p/month + 5 cpm on average.. The Hale folks took about 1.5 days to approve my credit.. they have locations all over the Eastern Seaboard. Hope that helps ya!

I leased a nearly new East all aluminum flat from Hale in 2010. If I recall correctly it was 600 per mo. with a small per mile charge for tires and brakes. I thought it was fair enough for a new trailer with new virgin tires. There was no requirement for me to be in business for any length of time, just a normal credit check and first and last month's payments.
Since you've done business with them, and I'm considering it, can you give a solid recommendation or any words of caution?
They were extremely fair with me. We measured the tires and brake linings when the contract was signed. I had the option to pay the per mile charge based on the wear or if cheaper I could put on the brakes and tires, My choice. The trailer was top notch and the terms were fair. I dealt with the Baltimore branch on Ft. Smallwood rd. You can choose to simply rent as I did or they will set you up with a lease to purchase. This was an experiment for me with my own authority so I only wanted the rental. I recommend them, They also have fair prices on parts and labor. Of course if you are renting from them they pay the tags so there is a small savings in that. It is three years later so I am not sure about the prices now. Also I was renting a 33,000 East aluminum flat. I am sure I could have rented a combo for a cheaper price but I had a really heavy Canadian freightliner (Western Star) and needed the weight savings.
