Really? Isn't it supposed to be mounted to the dash? Thus it being a DASH cam!.

On my W900 with drop visor - upper center area of the windshield w/ a suction mount for Top Dawg dash cam. I had the Top Dawg Dual cam using their double sided tape mount (because their suction mount piece included in that setup has very limited angle adjustment) but that cam committed suicide twice.

On the side - DO NOT GET TOP DAWG products unless you like throwing $$ away and just want to buy more frustration. Bought a Top Dawg (single cam) at Iowa 80 ($138? - cheaper now) and it lasted few weeks, then quits working. Had to get warranty by TD and send it in to them (which is easier said then done, out on the road). In the mean time, I bought a TD Dual cam ($190?) at a Verizon store in Petro (Amarillo, TX). Works for few weeks then quits working. A buddy of mine bought one at the same time and his quits working within a week. He gets it exchanged at Verizon reseller at TA in Dallas South. I contacted TD both on the phone and through emails. Sent in both, they sent a new single cam back and returned the Dual cam "fixed" because I left my 32 gb micro SD card in it and got it back. Dual cam worked for a week and died again. After various email exchanges with 2 different person asking about the detail problems (which I replied back to) but no further replies as what they were going to do to resolve it. I winded up going through Amarillo and expressed my discontentment with Top Dawg products/support. Even though it had been over 5 months since my purchase with them, the sales women was willing to exchange the unit but she didn't have any in stock. At first she gave me her business card and said I could get it exchanged at another Verizon store that had one in stock and if they gave me an issue, to have them call her. I wanted to settle it there since she was willing, so I asked about a different brand. She initially said Top Dawg Dual cam was the same price as the Blue Tiger Black Box, so I asked for that model. She later said that there was actually $10 difference plus tax - I took the offer since it was more than what I was getting from TD -besides my last shipping back for exchange was more than that anyway.

Currently TD (single) cam is mounted and working (so far). Day light recordings are fine but night time recordings are crap (just black with white/red lights from other vehicles). But in rain, picture quality is better than my actual view. The Blue Tiger Black Box - picture quality is better in both day and nights. License plates and exits are clearly visible. I think I made the right choice getting away from TD. I have the GoPro Black Edition waiting at home and I'm going to see if it's any better. Any dash cam is better than no dash cam but only if they're reliable and working when you need it.

I just bought a GoPro Hero3 Black and have it mounted with the suction cup to the middle of the windshield.

I can control it with an app on my IPhone or the wifi remote it came with.
