I run them, both on drive and trailer. They are a little deep on tread for a trailer tire, to my mind. I prefer to run them down on the drive first if I can, but as long as you move 'em around to avoid irregular wear they do fine. Traction is awesome on snow and ice because of all the siping. In fact, they are far better on ice/hard pack snow than any drive lug I've run in the donut-sized application (255/70-22.5.)

I also run xze on the drives and spread axle flat. They are a great spread axle tire. Ive used them on the drives for about 10 years. I believe the difference in chaining up a set of XZE and a closed shoulder lug tire is about 20 feet.

i run them on my steers. alot of fleets will put them on trailers for road calls and take them off back at the terminals. personally i would not on run them on your flat bed if its a spread axle. the mich brand alone is a sticky tire. their steers even worse. this could cause you to tear them up fast on a spread axle. now if you like mich maybe look at the xt 1 it has a good shipe for rain and a lower tread depth and not as sticky. as a former tire man i would go that route the xze is just to sticky for a spread. it would most likely tear up the tires and put lots of stress on the frame air bags axle mounts.

Sticky? These are for high scrub applications. Spread axle. Best tire I ever ran on the spread. Better than BFG ST230 (same casing).

Hey Hammer166 or Mtoo, I,ve been considering the XZE,s for drive tires also but was afraid of wear problems with the higher torque engines. Mine is 1850 torque, if you don't mind telling me how much your getting out of your tires. I used to run straight treads years ago with the older trucks that had 1550 or 1650 torque and loved them for the ride and no noise, also did great with the milage. Miss them and would like to try them again. Thanks in advance.

I run them as steers. Great ride, no irregular wear and better grip than other brands I've tried. If I had the money I'd run them on a trailer in a heartbeat. Mine are 16 ply if that helps.

They're going on a closed tandem flat. My tire guy said I'd love them, I tend to think he steers me right, he has so far. He said 90 psi.

The trailer came with XT1's, crap is all I can say about those tires. Talk about irregular wear! I might actually try them on my drives as well, if these XDN2's ever wear out.

CG1, I'd hate to tell you how often I put drives on... I'm a carhauler, and between the small size, higher temps because of shrouding, and the high duty cycle, I only get ~120K on a set. But I will say that they seem to wear as well as the XD2's on a per 32nd mileage.

the xze series is not a trailer tire nor a spread axle disign tire. michelin does have a recap xzesa that has rolled edges for spread axles but the xze is a steer tire design and is very sticky i worked for michelin for 2 years in pa.
