I received my CDL with all endorsements last September. Yes, I realize I am a new driver according to the industry, even though I drove for 5 years in the 80's. I have worked for two smaller companies, one who had me driving with a trainer who was the worst driver ever ( drove the truck like it was a sports car, and I caught him watching a movie on his ipad while I was in the bunk asleep, and many other issues), the other claimed no forced dispatch, but was forced twice to go to CA. I have never had a ticket or wreck. My background shows me working for 4 companies in 12 mos., but 2 of those were orientation for larger carriers, which during orientation I found out how full of #### their recruiters were. Now I'm sitting at home wondering what I did wrong. Any advice from anyone?

I'm on the Utah-Wyoming border. Not a great spot for hiring areas...

    That's a great spot for CDL-A jobs.
Is your address in Wyoming or Utah?
Those 4 jobs you quit; how long ago was that?

If that is all to the story then you should be able to find plenty of jobs. Every company out there is hiring.

4 companies in 12 months is the problem. It’s competitive out there. With this virus looming over the country’s (worlds?) head things are pretty uncertain for everyone.

just apply like crazy, and listen to what @Chinatown suggests and hope for the best.

The job hopping will hurt a little, so apply to many companies using their online application from their website.
Here's a few names, and we'll give you more.

It’s a tough job market right now, even for drivers. Many are returning to the industry or hanging on to jobs they might have otherwise quit because of the current economic conditions. Companies have their pick now, may just be that they see four companies in one year and you’re new and they just don’t want to take a chance on it right now? Why’d you let your CDL from the 80s go? I know guys who leave the industry but still keep their CDLs. I was one. Many smaller companies only look at how long you’ve been licensed for their insurance companies, not how long you’ve actually been in a truck. And you could always go with a 1099 outfit as they’re always looking for anyone with a pulse and a CDL. Just make sure you pay your taxes!!
