    EBS = Emergency Broadcast System

    Many of the tech geeks are freaking over the "not discussed/hidden" installation of what is being referred to as "EBS" on some of the new OS upgrades. Allowing the Fed to override/take control of your phone, at any time they deem necessary. Most are saying it would only be used in the time of national emergency. But it's a slippery slope IMHO.

    Anyone else seeing this ????

    The gov't doesn't need to take over your cell phone. They can already shut it down at the provider level.

    Yes.

    I saw this one night when an alert went off and the sky was clear. It was for my home and I was in another state. I do not have the GPS enabled since I run in Canada alot and it cost up there.

    I found where the settings were and stopped them.

    you can't shut gps off. you can shut your nodule off. but you can't shut the tracker off. if you call 911, they need to find you.

    if the guv needs to warn you.there is radio and tv

    I am well aware of that.

    My smart phone has the option to have gps enabled.

    If it is enabled in Canada, there is a charge for it and it is expensive. I keep it turned off.

    I do not use any location finder items such as on facebook and others because of this.

    Yes, all phones have a different gps for the phone than the optional one I was mentioning that is tied to this new software application that the recent upgrade put on my phone.
