Why spend 149k on a new truck when I can spend it on an old one?

    1975 Dodge Bighorn for sale

PROTOTYPE Shortnose Dodge Bighorn. One of 9 produced for testing. Only complete truck known to exist. Bought from Chrysler in 2010, after they decided nit to restore it and put in the museum.

I'm a big follower of Hemmings and I was thinking of posting this here. IDK about the $150g's, I never discuss price on Hemmings, it's a rare piece, for sure. I've seen many longnose Bighorns, but never a short nose. Couldn't compete with the Louisville Ford or the IH S model. Not good by today's standards, 318 Detroit , 13, Reyco suspension, I had my fill of these types of equipped trucks, but as a collector, well, who knows today, people pi$$ away a ton of money on useless stuff. It is a cool truck. Thanks for posting it. For more old truck fun, see the thread " A View of the Past, Vintage photos". Lot's of old iron there.

She is a beaut. Amazing that after all these years it has managed to stay in such great shape and not be tossed aside to rot. Price tag is hefty but it is a one off piece of automotive / trucking history. Cool find!

WOW! What a cool old truck, but at a ridiculous price! Hey "semi", notice the lubrifiner hangin' out there?
It's got no fifth wheel though, so you'd have to bobtail around, but everyone knows that you can't beat a Detroit for bobtailin'!!!

Needs about 6 feet more frame and it'd look perfect.

I've ridden in that exact truck a few times back in the 70's. Neighbor worked for Chrysler, he was the asset manager for the prototype vehicles including that one. a few times a year he would bring out us kids who were into cars to either Chelsea or other places to see what they were doing. We drove a bunch too.

    It isn't worth $149k.

They did a great job restoring it but still not worth it.

I did see that. I think it was mounted there, because there just wasn't any room under the hood.
