That's why trucking is so selfless now a days he cracked a light on the trailer behind him it's not like he pulled a swift and destroyed anything.. as a trainer I was responsible for my trainees actions not the other way around.

Exactly. Why is the trainer sleeping when you are driving? He's not a team driver, and its not a team operation.

These are the questions I would be asking as a safety director.

True and I would have been pissed the ## off as well But to ruin someone's training career lol over a tail light I couldn't bring myself to do it I would have laid in to the trainer asking him why the F aren't you watching your training

Playing devils advocate here as per usual, especially after the OP edited his post. We only have his word it was "just a tail light". Something doesnt pass the sniff test. If it was just a plastic round light then no big deal most of us would be somewhere between annoyed and pissed, but would settle for some harsh words and demanding he give his info incase he tried to claim it was our fault. Then we would make him give us a new light and leave it at that. The fact the police were called also supports this was a lot more serious then a single tail light.

But im wondering if he clipped a pickup and crushed in the rear of said pickup or ripped up the back of a trailer or even his own and the other driver is doing a CMA type thing because he doesnt want to be blamed for the 5 foot long gouge in the side of the drivers trailer. Also consider most lights on these trucks are recessed pretty deep so its hard to break them....

Regardless to the OP i would say it depends. Your being trained, your trainer wasnt training you. My guess is if the damage really was just a semi trailer tail light and damage is low say sub $250 they will slap you on the wrist and you will be fine. If you mashed up a pickup or did a ton of damage then things are likely to go bad for you.

The other driver seem nice and he just want to go and doesn’t care about the tail light, but my trainer already report to company, and officer arrived, I’m to new for all this , that why I’m confused

If its just a light as i said i wouldn't worry too much. Company will likely slap you on the wrist, give you a written "if you do this again your fired" style warning ans/or stern talking to. Its unlikely to make it as far as insurance but if it is more serious it just depends.

I don’t like to blame some1 , or talk bad thing about that person, but I really don’t know who is train who in this case ? Bacause most of the time I’m by myself, when I need to ask something, my trainer always at sleep or listen to a really loud music , when my turn to sleep , I’m barely sleep for 3 hrs , because of loud music and smoke stick around in the cab without windows rolling down .
